What do Teralba's older town houses and newer homes need?

Coal mining, gravel quarries and market gardens were the early industries; the school opened in 1884, the station in 1887, and the Lake Macquarie Shire Council first met in the Teralba Court House in 1906. The Great Northern Coal Company's mine became the Pacific Colliery in 1914, and the streets around Victoria Street were known as Monkey Town until the 1940s.

A weir on Cockle Creek was built in the 1920s for the Cockle Creek Power Station, which closed in 1976.
