What is different about exterior cleaning on the Terrigal to Avoca coast?

Homes near the surf take ocean spray, and BlueScope asks for sheltered COLORBOND steel in coastal areas with marine salt spray to be washed every three months, against six-monthly elsewhere. Runoff matters too, because the Wamberal, Terrigal, Avoca and Cockrone lagoons are mostly closed to the sea.
Central Coast Council advises against swimming at lagoon and lake sites for up to three days after rain, because stormwater pollution affects them. That is why wash water on this stretch of coast has to be kept out of the street gutter.
