What do Tighes Hill's freestanding houses near Throsby Creek need?

The suburb is named after A.A.P. Tighe, an early resident who bought the estate in 1843. A school followed in 1878, and within three years there was a post office, a church and stores; a tram line arrived in April 1894, and its bridge at the Maitland Road end of Tighes Terrace still stands. The TAFE campus, which was the University of Newcastle's original campus, forms the western side, and the eastern side along Hannell Street is a commercial precinct on former industrial land.
