How are Mayfield's Victorian mansions and later houses cleaned?

Mayfield is named after Ada May, a daughter of landowner John Scholey, and much of it was first called North Waratah, part of the Municipality of Waratah from 1871. It was mostly scrub and fields until Scholey subdivided it. His own Mayfield House was built with sandstone brought from England, and the mansion BHP put up in Crebert Street in the early 1920s for its general manager is now a functions centre.

Separate houses accounted for 74.3% of homes in 2021, and semi-detached or terrace dwellings for 17.3%.
