What do Cooranbong's older houses and new estate homes need?
The name comes from the Aboriginal Kour-an-bong, meaning rocky bottom creek or water over rocks. Lieutenant Percy Simpson received the first land grant, of 2,000 acres, and the town later gained a courthouse in 1873 and a post office in 1881. Sunnyside, the home of Ellen G. White from 1895 to 1900, stands near Avondale University on the Avondale Estate.
In 2021, 85.4% of occupied homes were separate houses, 10.2% townhouses or semi-detached, and 51.5% had four or more bedrooms. New render and cladding are washed with cleaning solution at low pressure so the finish is not damaged, and driveways and paths are pressure cleaned with the pressure set for each surface.
