Kanwal is said to mean spotting snakes indeed in a local Aboriginal language. Its biggest landmark is the Wyong Rugby League Club in the north-east, home of the Wyong Roos, and Craigie Park faces onto Tuggerah Lake to the east, with a wetland to the north-west.
