Do beachfront and bushland homes in Wamberal need different care?

Wamberal is an Aboriginal word meaning 'where the sea breaks', and the suburb sits beside Wamberal Lagoon, with the Terrigal Lagoon estuary dividing it from Terrigal. Its beach runs for 3.8 km, and storms in 2020 highlighted erosion problems along it. Older houses keep giving way to new ones: in 2008 a 1940s bungalow on a double beachfront block was passed in at auction, and the property has since been redeveloped.

West of the beach, the acreages sit among ridges of bushland that are legislated non-development areas.
