What do Matcham's large semi-rural homes need from a house wash?

The estate changed hands several times without being developed until 1907, when George Matcham sold it to Frank L Measures of Niagara Park. Measures cut it into portions between 1907 and 1910, and one of them later became neighbouring Holgate. Matcham has a hall and St George's Church, a historic church established in 1925.

Homes are large and almost all detached. The 2021 Census counted 97.2% separate houses, and 78.2% of occupied homes had at least four bedrooms. That is a lot of wall on a typical block, and a house wash at low pressure covers brick, render, weatherboard and cladding. Under Council's permanent water rules there is no restriction on when walls, windows, gutters or roofs are washed, provided it is done with a trigger hose or with a low-volume pressure cleaner drawing less than nine litres per minute.
