How are Jesmond's units, townhouses and houses cleaned?

The first settlers called it Dark Creek; it had orchards and steam sawmills, a village of around 600 people by 1883 and a soap works in the 1880s. The Great Depression hit hard, and many families lived in a shanty town called Hollywood along an old railway track.

Jesmond is mostly attached homes and units: the 2021 Census found separate houses were only 46.3% of occupied dwellings, against 27.4% townhouses or semi-detached and 25.6% flats, and two in three homes (67.6%) were rented. Common property in a strata scheme is the owners corporation's to maintain under NSW law, and quotes for it go to the corporation; a house gets a house wash, and its paving a pressure clean.
