What do Tingira Heights' 1960s houses need?
The suburb was developed in the 1960s and renamed in 1965 at the request of the old boys' association of HMAS Tingira, Australia's first naval training ship. Houses of that decade were built while asbestos cement sheeting was a standard building material, and high-pressure water is not to be used on it under SafeWork NSW guidance, so old eaves and sheeting here are cleaned with a low-pressure house wash, and tiles with a roof soft wash.
