Pressure cleaning and soft washing in lakeside Tuggerawong

Why do lakeside paths in Tuggerawong turn green?

The 2021 Census counted 554 private dwellings; separate houses were 87.5% of those occupied, with 3.1 bedrooms on average. Concrete and pavers that stay damp near the lake grow moss and algae and turn slippery. Clearing that growth is a permitted purpose under council's Water Wise Rules, which otherwise restrict pressure cleaning of paving. A Tuggerawong path and driveway clean uses a pressure suited to each surface. Because the lake is so close, wash water has to be kept away from stormwater drains: the NSW EPA points out that drains discharge to waterways with no treatment.
