How are Toukley's houses, units and holiday homes cleaned?

The town was first called Toukley Oukley, said to mean many brambles; settlers shortened it soon after it was founded, but the change became official only in 1969. Its public school dates from 1891, and the first Toukley Bridge to Gorokan, built in 1939, was replaced by the present one in July 1985. Motels, caravan parks, holiday houses and lake cabins cater for visitors.

Units are more common here than in most of the area: the 2021 Census found 70.9% separate houses, 15.9% townhouses or semi-detached and 13.0% flats among occupied homes, and 11.2% of private dwellings unoccupied. Where a building is strata titled, NSW law makes its owners corporation responsible for common property.
