Pressure washing and house washing in Hexham

What is Hexham like, and what do its homes need?

Land here was granted to Edward Sparke in the 1820s, and the place was named after the market town of Hexham in England. With river, road and rail on hand it became a crossroads: coal loading, washeries and workshops came first, then in 1927 a dairy factory that launched the Oak milk brand. West of the corridor is mostly swamp and floodplain, home of the Hexham grey mosquito, and Ozzie the Mozzie has watched over the bowling club sign since 1993.

The 2021 Census counted just 73 private dwellings. Walls get a house wash using solution, not force, and concrete driveways a pressure wash; the NSW EPA forbids letting the runoff into stormwater drains, which lead straight to the river.
