What do Wangi Wangi's peninsula homes need?

In its early days the peninsula was reachable only by ferries such as the Wangi Wangi, the Azile and the first Wangi Queen. The artist William Dobell lived here, and his 1948 Wynne Prize landscape, Storm Approaching Wangi, shows the place; his house at 47 Dobell Drive is heritage-listed, as is the Wangi Power Station, which ran from 1956 to 1986. The bushwalking tracks still hold Second World War gun emplacements.

Separate houses made up 87.5% of occupied homes in 2021, while 11.7% of private dwellings had no one home when the Census was taken. Tile maker Monier warns against pressure washers on roofs, so a roof soft wash uses a cleaning solution instead, and walls get a house wash.
