What do the creek and the bush mean for Cheero Point homes?
Cheero Point began as a land subdivision in 1918. It has the Pacific Motorway on its western edge and the creek on its eastern edge, and the 2021 Census counted 53 private dwellings in between. With national park on one side and water on the other, roofs catch leaf fall, and Monier notes that roofs under trees show dirt and debris sooner than open ones. A roof soft wash deals with that build-up at low pressure.
Mooney Mooney Creek runs down the whole eastern side of Cheero Point, so runoff from pressure cleaning driveways and paths has somewhere close to go. The NSW EPA rule is that wash water must not go into stormwater drains, since stormwater reaches creeks without treatment.

Is Cheero Point still part of Mooney Mooney?
No. The Geographical Names Board placed the locality inside Mooney Mooney in 1977, but after pressure from residents the Cheero Point name was officially reassigned on 21 March 2003. Both sit in Central Coast Council's area, so the same water rules apply to an exterior clean in either.
