How should houses on the Norah Head headland be washed?

The lighthouse was the last significant one built in New South Wales, finished with money from the Hargraves family of Noraville after many ships foundered off the headland; it was electrified in 1961 and fully automated in 1995, and the keepers' cottages are still maintained. In front of the head is a rock platform formed 180 to 280 million years ago, cut by a channel of darker volcanic rock.

Homes are large, with 53.2% of occupied dwellings having four or more bedrooms in 2021, and one in eight private dwellings (12.8%) had nobody home on Census night. BlueScope advises that areas of COLORBOND steel the rain never rinses, under the eaves for example, be hosed down twice a year at minimum, and more frequently close to the surf where salt spray settles; a house wash reaches those, and the roof gets its own soft wash.
