What do The Junction's houses and terraces need?
The Burwood Coal Company's line ran along what is now Union Street toward Merewether, with a branch turning west down today's Glebe Road, and the railway closed in 1954. The 2021 count put separate houses at 53.8%, semi-detached or terrace dwellings at 32.3% and flats at 14.2%, and over a quarter of homes, 27.7%, had at least four bedrooms. Tile maker Monier is firmly against pressure washers on roofs because of the risk to tiles, so roofs here get a soft wash and walls a gentle house wash.
